Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. They provide an extra benefit or impact while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from players or vendors, looted or obtained as rewards, or constructed with crafting materials. Alongside providing bonus attributes, upgrade items can also have cosmetic effects.
Infusions, inscriptions and enhancements are a type of upgrade component. They are generally not accessible for general use, and they can only be applied to ascended equipment or some non-ascended weapons from the Factions campaign. Infusions, inscriptions and enrichments can be retrieved from equipment with an Infusion Extraction Device. They can also be salvaged using a Blacklion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Unlike other upgrade items Phoenix Boxes are able to be traded while attached to the item that they are upgrading. They can be reused after being salvaged. These upgrade items can be used to boost the quality of armor and weapon without spending Dilithium. They can increase the chances that the item will receive a high-quality upgrade.
Upgrade components can be added to an item but the previous one is destroyed (except for legendaries and Ascended equipment). Only upgraded items with an identification level of 0 or higher can have upgrade components added to them. The addition of an upgrade to an existing weapon equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade will display the name of the resulting item in the same way as it appears in the game (for instance, adding an Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be named Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can only have up to three upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a useful accessory to any item since they provide numerous unique advantages and boosts. Some glyphs can also increase the number of affixes on an item, increasing its overall power. These glyphs are available through the dungeons and some even be found in specific World Tier 3 areas. It is important to note that glyphs are not available on a character who hasn't created a root dungeon with the same depth.
To use a Glyph you first need to create it with components and then connect them via anchors. The component will then automatically align with other components or paths within the same layer. If you don't wish to create the glyph with components, you can make use of an array of paths and anchors. Then, drag the element near a highlighted component to secure it.
Certain glyphs require certain requirements to be fulfilled, such as 25 Dexterity within a specific area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs require a certain number of Primary Stat Nodes to be activated, which can also be difficult to achieve. Some glyphs also have a radius, which increases as you move up.
Glyphs can be found on many different items and can be added to all weapons, with the exception for weapons of specific classes. Some of these glyphs have additional requirements, like an amount of damage to Dexterity or Attack damage on a specific part of the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph has a 5% chance to block enemy attacks. It also has a chance of 15%, making the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Some glyphs can also be applied to restricted use tools, like the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. These glyphs are counted towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most commonly used glyphs are the attack glyphs, which increase the ATK substats of Artifacts by a flat value. These glyphs are especially beneficial for classes that rely on weapons with a range, such as Warriors or Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph which makes enemies that hit the Hero vulnerable to being damaged.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used for rerolling a result rolled during an Action. When the reroll occurs, they are thrown away. Reroll tokens can be gained through a variety of ways, including through raids, dungeons, and skirmishes. You can also buy them at the shop or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons and trials, since they allow players to play a reroll of rewards of the final chest.
Recycle point values are provided for items at the level 1. When an item is recycled, it will add a specific amount of points to the upgrade gauge. This value scales according to the item's level and rarity. Additionally, the upgraded item won't keep its level when it is rerolled and the cost for recycling an upgraded item goes up with its level.
Alternately, players can use reroll tokens to make an upgrade item rerollable however, this won't bring the item back to its original condition or provide the original statistics. This is a great option for those who want to reroll a piece of equipment that they don't love but want to keep in their collection.
There are three types of upgrade tokens in the game: reroll random and upgrade. Each type has a few subtypes. For instance, tokens that reroll come in three different levels: rare, enhanced and legendary. Each level requires an item from the respective level to make a new item of that level.
To make use of reroll tokens, right-click the Satanic or Angelic item in inventory and select "Reroll Token". Then, select a kind of token. The available tokens include Item, Weapon, Misc, 1hgun, 2hgun and Focus. Utilizing an Item token will create a new Item of any type. Using an item token or a Weapon or Misc token will create a new weapon of the same faction.
There is also the possibility that the item could be upgraded to a new item with a higher level and the same extra stats. This is likely to happen if the item has been placed in the Pool that is not droppable or was transferred to the pool as part of the franchise card.
