Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment provides an increase in linearity of the stats of a particular.
Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, but it can be reduced by various ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.
Most weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, like a rune or an insignia. Some can be enhanced by adding the suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods at all.
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective tool for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. This is the highest value that a glyph can increase a stat's value by and not the amount it will actually increase it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item you are enchanting.
Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you wish to remove a glyph from a piece of, you will need to salvage it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.
When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to give it a bonus. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at once. item upgrades is helpful for players who take a lot of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and can be found in various ways such as in mistery boxes, as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an unspecified affix, which is generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be a good way to reroll weapon stats that can be upgraded for better damage or other perks.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they still qualify to receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will alter the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be selected for recycling. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll the % chance of a weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.
Rerolling is an excellent option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl is reduced by the number rerolls it took to get it to the final level. This reduction effect is most effective with Diadems and rings, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.
The system of rerolls has been criticised by players as being too expensive, and it would be more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or a food item that would allow players to alter their build without wasting time and energy. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers want to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They plan to add the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The first method of leveling up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of an upgrade for a stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of the stat. Finally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will keep its iLevel but it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
It is important to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In the majority of cases the best roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also chances for higher or more special rolls. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a special item type, it is likely to gaining an upper level.
Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the base iLevel as well as the amount of upgrade levels.
